While George Chase was driving four horse team over crossing just east of tank house at Buckfield, it is claimed one of the horses caught foot between planking and rail splitting hoof in two places quite bad.
I understand this is not a highway crossing but was put in for convenience in trucking across Buckfield Yard and crossing was repaired day before the accident.
Please have this matter carefully looked into and let me have report of conditions, and also something about the history of this crossing as to when put in, occasion for doing so, etc.
